Sautéed Green Beans
Serves: 6
Total Time: 25 min
Active: 20 min
Level: Easy
INGREDIENTS
4 handfuls green beans, trimmed
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/3 cup almonds, slivered or sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS
Wash green beans and snap off both end tips of each bean (this is "trimming" the bean)
Heat skillet on medium-low and toss in almonds. Lightly roast until they are slightly browned (about 10 minutes). Remove almonds from pan and set aside.
In the same skillet, heat the butter on low heat and add the garlic as it melts. Sauté the garlic on low for about 3 minutes until it browns slightly and gets fragrant. Toss in the green beans, turn heat up to medium and sauté until tender-crisp (about 10-12 minutes). Add back the almonds to the skillet and turn off burner. Season with salt and black pepper, to taste.
