Baked Brie

Baked Brie

  • Serves: 8

  • Time: 35 mins

  • Active: 10 mins

  • Level: Easy

INGREDIENTS

1 large wheel of brie

3 tbsp. Brown sugar

1 sheet puffed pastry

1 tbsp. Butter

1 egg

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Remove outside rind from brie and place brie in the middle of 1 sheet, thawed, puff pastry.

Melt butter and pour slowly on top of brie, place sugar on top of brie.

Gently take the corners of the puff pastry and fold over top of brie, completely encasing the wheel. Make sure you don’t pull to hard creating holes in the pastry. If you have extra puff pastry as you are working, use a pairing knife to cut slices of pastry off to get a clean close without too much pastry. Gently pinch the puff pastry circle together with the folded over pastry at the seams to make sure there are no holes.

Slightly beat the egg in a separate bowl and use a pastry brush to gently brush the tops and sides of the puff pastry with egg.

Place on cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes, reduce heat to 325 degrees F and continue baking for 10-15 more minutes.

Remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Serve with crackers, sliced baguette and apple slices.
